Maike Osborne is, firstly, an engineer, who has helped build AI to contribute to quantum computing, astrostatistics and battery modelling. She is also at the forefront of work that analyses the economic and social impacts of AI—she has advised ministers in Germany and Japan on AI’s impacts, with her methodology also being used by Obama’s council of economic advisors and Teresa May’s Taylor Report.
